Hawke's Bay fencer Tony Bouskill has won the World Power Fencing title in Germany.

The 29 year old won the chance to go for the world title following his win of the Golden Pliers at Mystery Creek last year.

He beat competitors from seven countries in a two-hour fence-off.


The Central Hawke's Bay District Council won two prestigious awards at the 2019 Society of Local Government Managers annual Gala Dinner in Auckland last week.

Chief Executive Monique Davidson was awarded the Melbourne Business School Leadership Scholarship, which will see her take part in the school's most senior leadership programme.

Judges praised Monique's impressive career development journey and her commitment to a local government career.

Council's Group Manager, Corporate Support and Services, Bronda Smith was awarded an Overseas Manager Exchange to New South Wales in Australia.
