A new principal has been appointed to Waipukurau School.

Bex Skerman, who is currently the principal at Bridge Pa School, will replace Tim Hocquard, who retires at the end of the school year.

Ms Skerman has been in her current position for the past three years, and when appointed, was the youngest female school principal.

She says she is excited to join the Waipukurau School team, and loves teaching and working with staff and whanau.

Information is being sought after two bikes went missing from Waipawa Primary School last week.

The adult size mountain bikes were taken on Friday, with one blue in colour with purple handle grips, the other bike green with racing grips.

Information can be passed on to Waipawa School itself or to CHB Police.

The Tararua District Council's 30th Anniversary High-Teas continue today.

Today the high-teas will be held at the Woodville Community Hall from 10am-11am; the Norsewood War Memorial Hall from 12.30-1.30pm; and at the Tararua Business Network in Dannevirke from 3pm-4pm.
