Local business Isaac's Plumbing, Pumping & Electrical has taken out the top award at the 2019 Hawke's Bay Pan Pac Business Awards.

The awards ceremony was held last Friday in Hastings.

Isaac's top out the Supreme Business Award, as well as the Large Business Award.

The company was taken over by Gavin Streeter and Shane Heaton in 2013, who have grown the business dramatically.

Currently 50 people are employed by the company.

Social media was instrumental in helping find a missing Waipukurau man last week.

The 76 year old was last seen at 7am Friday in the Lakeview Road area, and failed to return home.

Police put out a call for sightings of the man on Friday afternoon, with Police saying they had reports from the public within 20 minutes of a post on the Central FM Facebook page.

The man was found safe and well on a property on Arlington Road.

Success for local farmer Hazel Schroder at the Manawatu A&P Show in Feilding at the weekend.

Roxy, a cow owned by her was named senior champion Holstein Friesian.

Hazel, who farms at Ormondville, and who has been showing cows for 20 years, was thrilled with the win as it was the first time one of her cows has won best udder.

She said Roxy always looks show ready, and the two daughters she has produced have also achieved show ring success.

Hazel said this year would probably be her last year of showing cattle.
