Pongaroa residents still need to boil their water.

Recent heavy rain saw the Tararua District Council issue a precautionary notice last week, and yesterday a spokesperson said it will take a few days before the correct level of chlorine returns to the reticulation, allowing the notice to be lifted.

Anyone with a specific health concern was advised to consult their doctor, or call the free Healthline on 0800 611 116.

Pongaroa residents are advised to boil their water before using it for drinking, making ice, food preparation, brushing teeth and preparing infant/toddler formula.
