Waipukurau business GM Panelbeaters has been awarded a prestigious honour.

GM Panelbeaters is one of only nine panelbeaters in the country to have achieved Gold Class 1 car accreditation.

Owner Glen Millar said the accreditation is the "absolute pinnacle of trained technicians within the industry".

He said to achieve the rating, a business must have a platinum recognised qualified tradesman in all areas.

Mr Millar thanked his staff for their continued enthusiasm to up-skill.

He said with the amount of technology that is in motor vehicles nowadays, it is really important that repairs are carried out to manufacturer specifications, and that all safety systems are re-calibrated.
