Hawke’s Bay Police are asking for witnesses to a serious single-vehicle crash on SH5 at Te Haroto, on Sunday.
The crash, which occurred around 4pm, involved a white Nissan Juke, which was heading from Taupo towards Napier.
Police say a number of people stopped to help after the vehicle crashed near McVicar Road.
Police investigating the crash are asking for any of those people who haven't yet spoken to them to come forward, and would also like to hear from anyone who witnessed the crash, or saw the vehicle in transit around the time of the crash.
Central Hawke’s Bay Police are warning people against becoming victims to scammers.
Constable Andy Walker says the scams all originate from overseas.
He says in one recent local case a person lost $10,000 to the usual “your internet is running slow” scam.
The scammer was able to gain access to the computer to take the money.
Mr Walker says in another case recently a person fell victim to a scam where a person received a call from a person claiming to be from their bank, and needed access to their account.
The person lost $10,300.
Mr Walker says people should never give out passwords or account details over the phone.
He says once money is gone overseas, it is difficult to get back.
Anyone who suspects they may be a victim of a scam is advised to contact Police.
