State Highway 2 north of Dannevirke was closed for about 90 minutes on Friday evening following a three-car crash. Emergency services were called about 5.30pm, with one person receiving moderate injuries. Fire & Emergency NZ had to remove one person from a vehicle. The detection of a COVID-19 case in Pahiatua yesterday has Tararua’s Mayor concerned at low testing rates. Tracey Collis told Central FM testing had been quite low since the first two cases were discovered in the district earlier this month. No one was injured following a two-car crash near Takapau earlier this week.
