A Strong Wind Watch is in place for Hawke’s Bay this morning.
North to northwest winds are expected to approach severe gale at times in exposed areas of the region until about eleven o’clock tonight.
Strong winds woke some Central Hawke’s Bay residents this morning.
On social media one person said the wind had caused their “bed to shake”, while another said their power box had been taken out, and they were without electricity.
