Traffic on the Saddle Road was disrupted for a large part of last Friday after a truck and trailer veered off the road into a ditch near the Cook Road intersection.
The driver was unable to drive the unit out of the ditch, causing the westbound lane of the road to close.
The incident happened around 10am.
The road was fully closed to allow for the truck and trailer to be removed about 1.30pm, and fully re-opened just after 4.30pm.

Tararua District Council has issued a precautionary boil water notice for the Pongaroa water supply due.
The notice was issued on Friday night following a fault in the supply’s UV reactor.
The Council says the fault means disinfection levels are uncertain.
A spokesperson said the reactor would be repaired as soon as possible.
Until notified, Pongaroa residents are advised to boil water before using it for:
- drinking (including making of sachet juice/drinks)
- making ice
- food preparation
- brushing teeth
- preparing infant/toddler formula.

A man with links to Dannevirke and Woodville is still being sought by Police after escaping custody on Saturday.
41-year-old Marley Gregory escaped after being remanded in custody following a Court appearance on Saturday morning.
He escaped on foot from Police around 10:50am while being transferred from a police cell to a van in Levin.
Marley was last seen barefoot and wearing all grey clothing, and Police say he is considered dangerous and should not be approached.
