Metservice has issued both Strong Wind Watches and Heavy Rain Watches for Central Hawke’s Bay and Tararua District.
The Heavy Rain Watch for Hawke’s Bay is for the 16-hour period from 11 o’clock tonight until 3pm tomorrow; while for Tararua District periods of heavy rain are expected from 2am to 2pm tomorrow.
On the wind front, the watch is in place from 5am to 2pm tomorrow, where northeast gales could approach severe gale in exposed places at times.

One person was injured after a truck rolled on Bush Road last Friday.
Emergency services were alerted to the incident just before 2.30pm.
Bush Road was closed for about an hour, before reopening to one lane.
A heavy haulage vehicle was brought in to remove the overturned truck from the scene.

Ten fire appliances were called to a fire at a transport yard in Pahiatua yesterday.
The fire at M.J. Watts Transport was noticed by a passerby just before 8.30am.
A building, large workshop and office block, were destroyed by the fire.
An empty stock truck inside the building was also destroyed, while a truck fully loaded with wool was saved.
A fire investigator is looking into the cause.
