Today Chris Hipkins said the isolation period for a positive case will be reduced from 10 days to seven days coming into effect on Friday 11 March at 11.59pm. MIQ isolation will also be reduced to 7 days. Positive cases will need a RAT on day three and seven. If a positive test is returned they will need to isolate for seven days from the positive test. A dedicated COVID-19 ward has been mobilised at Hawke’s Bay Hospital to safely manage a growing number of inpatients with the virus.
