Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists of two weeks of daytime road closures of the Saddle Road.
From next Monday, the Saddle Road will be closed weekdays from 9am until 4pm for the two-week period of the school holidays.
NZTA asks people to plan their journey ahead with a detour via the Pahiatua Track.
The closure is to allow for resurfacing work.

There are currently 110 active COVID-19 cases in Central Hawke’s Bay.
Yesterday the Ministry of Health reported 16 new cases in the district.
Overall, the region has 1801 active COVID-19 cases, including 13 in hospital.
Tararua District currently has 111 active COVID cases.

A Precautionary Boil Notice for those connected to the Pongaroa water supply has been lifted.
The notice was issued last month die to a fault with a UV reactor at the site.
Following three consecutive days of clear tests, the Tararua District Council lifted the notice last Friday night.
